Genotyping

The UC Davis Mouse Biology Program offers a variety of genotyping and genetic fingerprinting services for identifying transgenic, gene-trapped and gene-targeted mouse models.  Services include high throughput and multiplex PCR capabilities, real-time PCR for mutant copy # and Tg zygosity determination, screening for homologous recombination and verification of correctly targeted ES cells, 5’ and 3’ RACE for transcriptional sequence tag verification of gene-trapped ES cells, VISA (vector integration site analysis) which is a customized strategy for discovering the exact insertion location of a genetrap vector, SNP analysis for genetic fingerprinting, genotyping protocol development and speed congenics.  We accept ES cell and mouse tissues from colonies and/or archives maintained throughout the university and world.
