The Center for Genomic Pathology and UC Davis Extension are pleased to announce Pathobiology of the Mouse, Part B is now open for enrollment. You may enroll now through Feb. 19 on the UC Davis Extension website, www.extension.ucdavis.edu.
Part B is offered completely online and continues the comprehensive curriculum introduced in Part A. Taught by Dr. Robert Cardiff, with materials provided by a national team of experts, the course provides intensive, in-depth examination of the following topics:
- Part 1: The Unique Laboratory Mouse covers Nomenclature and Genetics, Immunobiology of the Mouse, The Unique Mouse, Normal Mouse Embryology, the Reproductive Cycle and Mouse Skin and Hair.
- Part 2: “How To” Techniques for Studying Laboratory Mouse Pathobiology examines Gross Descriptive Terminology, ICIARC, ICMIAD, How to Make genetically Engineered Mice, Abnormal Mouse Embryo and Placenta, Basic Surgical Techniques, Light and Electron Microscopy, and Responsible Experimental Design.
- Part 3: Pathobiology of the Genetically Engineered Mouse covers Infectious Diseases of Laboratory Mice, Background Pathology of Wild Type Laboratory Mice and Spontaneous Tumors of Wild Type Laboratory Mice (Non-Genetic).
- Part 4: Pathobiology of Genetically Engineered Mice examines GEM Tumor Pathology, Classic GEM Tumors and Immunodeficient Mice.
A special introductory rate of $950 will be offered for the winter session. Qualified graduate students may enroll for $750, and special discounts are available for groups of three or more students enrolling from the same organization at the same time.
Before enrolling you should first complete Part A or be familiar with the material covered in Part A.
